aluminium oksida Brown bersatu dan terhablur bawah suhu yang tinggi daripada campuran bauksit dan bahan-bahan mentah yang lain dan lain-lain. Ia mempunyai ciri-ciri kekerasan yang tinggi, keliatan yang baik dan bentuk dalam saiz. Abrasives alat diperbuat daripada ia adalah sesuai untuk logam kekuatan tegangan tinggi seperti pengisaran: keluli karbon, keluli aloi kegunaan umum, annealed besi tempa dan Broze keras, etc.It juga boleh digunakan sebagai bahan refraktori.
