òxid d'alumini Brown es fusiona i es va cristal·litzar sota alt de temperatura d'una barreja de bauxita i altres i altres matèries primeres. Es caracteritza per la seva alta duresa, bona tenacitat i la forma de mida. Abrasius eines fetes d'ell són adequats per a la mòlta de metalls de força d'alta resistència, com ara: acer al carboni, acer d'aliatge de propòsit general, de ferro mal·leable recuit i broze dur, etc.It també es pot utilitzar com a materials refractaris.
